Day 24

Day 24 subject – “inside your bathroom cabinet”

Well we don’t really have a cabinet per se but we do have a closet. It’s not very inspiring, interesting, or thought provoking but..here it is!

Day 23

Day 23 subject “shoes”

I had a hard time deciding on this one. It’s not because I have an extraordinary amount of shoes as some women do (I am a sunglasses addict not a shoe addict.) But rather I didn’t know what kind of “message” I wanted to portray. I hovered over my pink fuzzies for a moment as that’s what I wear at home – in the winter. For most of the year I am barefoot. I thought about my sneakers as I have been exercising up a storm these last few months. I briefly thought about my high-heeled black boots that I have yet to wear this year and thought “NO.” I chose instead the big, black, wedge sandals that, if it weren’t February in New England I would be wearing every day. I am not a flip-flop kinda girl. I like giant, clunky wedges that add several inches to my height, to the dismay of my slightly shorter husband. So in honor of spring, our cruise, and the fact that there is no snow on the ground in February. Here are my sandals!

Only a few days left of the challenge – see what’s coming up!

Day 21

Day 21 subject “where you work” –

I am very fortunate to work from home doing my writing full-time. It’s a bit of a challenge, as being your own boss doesn’t mean it’s vacation every day, especially when the only person responsible for work product is you! I do enjoy the freedom being at home allows me creatively speaking and I am an uber multitasker so household chores get wound in to everything else so they don’t eat at me while I’m working. My photo is the view from my desk which is both inspiring and distracting some days. I do understand now the theory behind having workers in cubicles, no windows, nothing to look at and distract their focus. However, in this line of work an errant turkey or porcupine meandering into my line of sight can spawn a poem or even a children’s book! So you can keep your cubicle, I’ll “suffer” the distraction of my view!

This challenge will be over in a few days and I hope you have enjoyed following along! Did any of you participate by taking your own photos or did this inspire you to come up with a challenge of your own? Leave a comment and let me know!

Day 19 subject “something you hate to do”…the dreaded bill-paying!

Image

Day 20 subject “handwriting” – this photo is actually my handwriting. I know it looks cryptic and unreadable and that is mainly due to a lifetime of being surrounded by nosy siblings and co-workers. This is what it has morphed into and yes, I can read it (most days!)

Day 21 subject “favorite photo of you” – One of my favorites from our wedding day almost 3 years ago. 🙂

Day 18 – “Drink”

Day 18 subject “drink”

I knew exactly what this photo would be the second I saw the prompt! It is a McDonald’s concoction only around for a very, very limited time and sometimes as scare to locate as a leprechaun himself! It is a minty, green-tinted Shamrock shake! I LOVE these and have been known to sit in the car and roll my “rrr’s” as the driver tries in vain to order it without cracking up. Shamrrrrrrrock shake…. hahaha. I have had one this year and after seeing the calorie count online for a small, perhaps that may be the only one!

Cheers!

Catch-up!

So it’s a lot easier to “take” the picture every day than it is to “post” it! for the 14th I had a picture I couldn’t find, took a different one and spent a half-hour and it wouldn’t load, then the page they say they “ALWAYS” save a draft of…didn’t save. I ran out of time and now here it is the 17th. So after a cranky Blog-system and a minor illness I am now ready to post!

14th subject-“heart” I chose a vintage Valentine my Mother had on display.

Day 15 subject “phone” – This is a phone we had in our “Fire-themed” Bar we used to own. It resembles a call box but cleverly is an actual phone. 🙂

Day 16 subject -“Something New” – to expand my writing “offerings” I have branched out into framing some of my poetry along with the actual photograph or vision that inspired it. This gives people a chance to see more of my work in a more timely fashion than waiting for a kind publisher to fall in love with the manuscript enough to put it all into book format!

Day 17 subject “time” – This is a photo of some green olives as in “not ready” olives we purchased in the North End in Boston on our annual Christmas pilgrimage. I chose this picture because we are curing these olives – novicely – a process that if you choose to do the old-fashioned way takes a very, very, long time… as in months. I think we are nearing the point where we can try one but I have to say I am not as excited about that prospect as I was when we started! I think I’ll let the Mr. eat the 1st one 🙂

Day 13 – “Blue”

Day 13 – “blue” – Lots to choose from here, it’s actually a nice sunny day here in New England. Big puffy clouds, no snow on the ground, if you don’t step outside to the biting wind and temps in the teens you wouldn’t know it was mid-February! However, I’m not posting that, instead I’m posting a picture of the Caribbean ocean taken on our last cruise. The blue of that water is like nothing here in New Hampshire and it’s water I’ll be seeing in 3 months when my husband and I take our 1st vacation(cruise) since our honeymoon. I can’t wait and this picture helps me forget just how cold I’m about to be when I go outside!

The beautiful blue of St. Thomas!
